O M G!!! You want AUTHENTIC Mexican food?!?! Then come here!!!
I am a born raised Californian and hispanic (Nicaraguan) as well and let me just say that the food is on point!!!
I'm VERY picky when it comes to Mole and this mole reminded me of home!!! It was just right! Not too sweet not too spicy and the carnitas plate THE BEST! Add mole?!?! You are set for life!!! As for the coconut pineapple margarita?!?! Let's just say the bartender is very generous with the tequila
Churros?!?! FIREEEEEE!!!!!!!
Thanks for bringing a little bit of home for me. You'll definitely see me again!
Tamales?!?! Still good just a tad too soft for me but I am fully aware that making tamales is a hit and miss but this was still good for me it just reminded me of Nacatamales still good! Still reminded me of home since I'm part Nicaraguan.
Overall! Just come here!!! This is Cali approved from a true Californian Customer services is great as well!! Thanks again for the wonderful experience!!! -

I've lived in Arizona and San Diego for many years. So I know what real Mexico food tastes like.
Several years ago when I had returned from a trip to San Diego a friend took me out to El Rodeo.
I have to say that I had the worst dining experience of my life. Not with the service and certainly with the grilled Mexican street corn, which is delicious! But with the seasoning of the food. I had ordered Carne Asada. Which is usually a juicy, savory piece of either skirt or flank steak. The meat was cooked perfectly buy the seasoning tasted like the stuff you buy in the seasonings idle. Something like Lawreys or McCormick's. It was awful!
Fortunately or unfortunately, I'm not sure which the night before I left San Diego , my family and I went out to a real Mexican restaurant. I still had the flavore of that delicious meal on my mind. So eating El Rodeos carne asada was a shock! I couldn't eat it.
I tried to get something different but the server refused to make an exchange.
To this day I refuse to eat at any of their restaurants.
I realize it's hard to find authentic Mexican food in Maine, see my upcoming review of Guerrero Myay and Taco Trio, but the popularity of this restaurant astounds me! -

Sunny Friday and decided to have a brunch, and its El Rodeo. I would have given more than 5 stars if there's an option!
Loved the complimentary corn tortilla and salsa. Tomato salsa was so yum one can tell it's freshly made!
Tried the following;
Half lemonade, half club soda - It was prepared exactly per my taste.
Lunch Fajitas (Chicken) - Taste, Quantity and Quality spot ON.
Churros - OMG, they are the best ones I had... I wasn't fan of the churros but, after having these it changed my taste!
What would I change? Yes, I would make food little presentable on plate. I have had Fajitas earlier in other restaurants and can easily say, food presentation can be made better!
Service was pretty quick and friendly. We would definitely go back again to try more dishes! Check out pictures. -

Come here often. The meals are well priced, tasty, and the staff friendly. If in the area, give this place a shot.

This ain't "L ROW-DEE-OH", this is EL RRRRRRRO-DEH-OHHH. This was an awesome experience having our waiter from Mexico seeing our Texas & California ID's after placing our orders for some Corrrronitas (a mini Corona turned upside down in a Margarita). He asked us, "What are you doing here", we could ask the same for you buddy.
He was awesome in knowing exactly how we wanted our tacos (& this was our first time having him). It's a regional thing, so he knew to bring a platter of hot sauces our way as well.
We were pretty happy about our unlimited chips & salsa too, the salsa was exactly how it's supposed to be made-- sustenance from the tomatoes, salt to offset the acidity of the lime, and cilantro & onions for deliciousness.
People who have never been to Texas or California don't understand how good it feels to come to a massive Mexican restaurant with not the best decor, but delicious salsa & margaritas.
For my waist size's sake, I won't come here as much as I actually would. But for homesickness, I would definitely return to either here, or Guerrero Maya in the same vicinity.
